  • Mar 16, 2021: Nice article about LIGO station in the latest edition of LIGO Magazine!
  • Oct 3, 2017: LIGO station master Rai Weiss has been awarded the 2017 Nobel prize in physics for his pioneering work in the detection of gravitational waves. Peter Saulson, who shares station master duties with Rai, was one of the LIGO principal researchers whose work contributed to this Nobel prize-winnning achievement. Congratulations to you both!

  • Mar 18, 2016: If you have a smartphone, you can now activate your all-day subway pass by scanning the QR code that appears on any station sign.
  • Feb 28, 2016: Our Cartography Department has been hard at work. Check out the DRT's new interactive Google Map of the entire subway system. With a click of the mouse you can also explore other significant trails in our area: the Maine Ice Age Trail, the Schoodic Int'l Sculpture Trail, the Downeast Fisheries Trail, the Maine Birding Trail, and the Down East Sunrise Trail.   • Feb 2, 2016: This morning's Eastport earthquake triggered an automatic system-wide safety shutdown. The shutdown has been lifted and all trains are now running on schedule.
